The Flanders Architecture Institute manages a rich specialist library, with more than ten thousand books and about 300 different journal titles. Belgian architecture books and journals make up the main component and are actively collected. Among foreign books and magazine series, we only retain the most important publications. Besides books and journals, the collection also contains product catalogues and advertising leaflets of manufacturers and sellers of building materials.
"Architectural books and journals are important means of communication for the building industry. They are media that report on new projects, trends and events. They are used both for practical manuals and as historical reflections and theoretical considerations. At the same time, they inspire and influence many readers. This makes these books and magazines one of the most valuable tools for the study of architecture and the research of the built environment."‐ Dirk Laureys, collection manager
