For the exhibition Alternative Histories, the Architecture Foundation, Drawing Matter and Veldwerk invited over 80 architectural firms, including many Belgian offices, to elaborate a new model based on a design drawing from the Drawing Matter collection. With the new model, the architects not only indicate what they see in the design drawing, but also devise an alternative future for the original sketch.
Studio Thys Vermeulen was asked to work on the drawing for Tower House by Sergison Bates, Wim Goes Architectuur on On Cassius Goldsmith's Single storey lodge, Robbrecht & Daem Architecten on Corbusier’s Chapelle de Notre-Dame-du-Haut Ronchamp, and Bovenbouw on James Gowan’s page 9, from Sketchbook 10.
A list of the participating architects can be found here.
The exhibition runs from 23 March to 14 April at 6 Cork Street, Mayfair, London. Only open Saturdays and Sundays, from 11am–6pm.
