In their exhibition series ‘Projections’, the Flanders Architecture Institute and deSingel want to offer a platform for existing design-based research in Flanders. For a couple of seasons we shall be showing the work of architecture students and lecturers and of independent research groups. We are zooming in on the provisional results of this research and will take a direct and open-minded look at actual situations. In our choice of projects we shall take a lead from social topics and/or the issue of the role of the architectural discipline in society. The only essential thing is that the research is relevant to Flanders and is by no means noncommittal.
