After two successful editions in 2015 and 2016, the Belgian journal A+ Architecture, in collaboration with the Flanders Architecture Institute and the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Liège, will once again organise the lecture series ACROSS in 2018.

The ACROSS lecture series provides a forum for young Belgian architects on both sides of the language border. On 27 February, Brussels-based GRUE kicks off the new season, while landscape architect Bas Smets provides an introduction.

Programming Dutch-speaking architects in Liège (Galerie Opéra) and French-speaking architects in Antwerp (deSingel) stimulates dialogue between the two cultures. ACROSS departs from the observation that there is a lack of exchange and dialogue between the French-speaking and Dutch-speaking architectural cultures in Belgium. The programme strives to fill this gap and provide a platform for young architectural firms to reflect on their practice and the context in which they work.

Four young French-speaking offices will take to the floor in Antwerp, while four Dutch-speaking practices will speak in Liège. New this year is that each participant will be introduced by a senior architect from the other language region.
