The international art campus deSingel played a major part from the 1980s onwards in establishing an architectural culture in Flanders. An architecture curator of deSingel programmed from 1985 onwards exhibitions and lectures on architecture, inviting Belgian and international architects and stimulating the debate on the built environment.

DeSingel and the CVAa started to inventory the archive of deSingel's architectural activities in 2014, starting with the curators' archives and with the digitization of a collection of photographs by Jan Kempenaers. The inventory of the production archive is programmed for the next few months.

On the deSingel architecture program were, amongst others, O.M.A./Rem Koolhaas (1985), Luc Deleu (1987), Jean Nouvel (1991), Toyo Ito (2000), Xaveer De Geyter architecten (2001), B-architecten (2004).
For the exhibition De Wonderjaren and the project Generatie 74 the architecture archives of deSingel proved to be a useful source.
