During the sixteenth edition of the Venice Architecture Biennale, EUROTOPIE will be on display in the Belgian pavilion. The project focuses on the territorial, physical and symbolic presence of the European Union in Brussels.
With the EUROTOPIE project, curators Roxane Le Grelle, Léone Drapeaud, Manuel Leon Fanjul and Johnny Leya explore the contribution made by architects to the construction of the democratic space, based on case studies of Brussels’ European District. The Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles’ selection commission stresses both the project’s universal value and its contemporary worth. It praises the team members’ clear and constructive approach and complementarity, which sees the curators suggesting a collaboration with the writer Bruce Begout, the artist and scenographer Sébastien Lacomblez and the photographer Philippe Bracquenier.
The Venice Architecture Biennale will run from 26 May to 25 November 2018.
Belgian participation in the Architecture Biennale 2018 is being managed by the Cellule architecture de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles in collaboration with Wallonie-Bruxelles International.
