The architecture season 2018 - 2019 is looking very promising. Next to two big expo's and a series of small exhibitions, the Flanders Architecture Institute provides several moments to introduce interesting architects to the public. Like every season we organize interesting lectures, debates and encounters with architects, urban planners and critics. And of course we have plenty of publications coming up in 2018 and 2019.

Sofie De Caigny, director of the Flanders Architecture Insittute:
The built environment has many layers and meanings. Every new generation builds on the city and adds its own signature, while also being responsible for safeguarding the future. The architecture programme of the Flanders Architecture Institute and deSingel for 2018–2019 explores the exciting interface between the building practices of today, the challenges for the future, and the richness of the past. It does so by examining unknown treasures from the archive for their contemporary relevance. By looking for the fading boundaries between architectural history and contemporary design practice. And by challenging young designers to work towards the future when tackling spatial issues.
