Ney & Partners has won the design competition for the new ‘Paddepoelsterbrug’, a new cyclist and pedestrian bridge in Groningen, The Netherlands.
The bridge crosses the canal at 10-meter height and has a total length of 460 meter. Ney & Partners has created a bridge that is unobtrusive and blends into the open landscape. The minimalistic rigid frame structure will emerge as a mere stripe across the canal and will has no prominent structural systems above the level of the deck. Ney & Partners won the design competition together with Holandia Infra, Friso Civiel, Tauw and veenenbosenbosch.
