Initiated in 2019, The Seven Questions lecture series, curated by Jan De Vylder and Annamaria Prandi, gives the floor to an invitee to give a seven questions lecture in front of the architecture students of ETH Zurich. During the pandemic this became an online recurring event with a growing number of international guests. In 2020 De Vylder and Prandi decided to open the door to a vaster public. Seven Questions is broadcasted almost weekly on Zoom and is open to anyone interested in architecture.
The studio currently has run 43 lectures and will arrive to 71 at the end of Spring 2021. Among them Philip Ursprung, Momoyo Kaijima, Christian Schmid, Joseph Grima, Jaume Mayol, Charlotte Malterre-Barthes, Emanuel Christ, Tatiana Bilbao, Fala, Giovanna Borasi, Eva Prats, Point Supreme, Christophe Van Gerrewey, Jeannette Kuo, Oliver Lütjens and many more.
The guests have been selected in order to enlarge the way architecture is driven and communicated. Seven Questions gives a voice to young and promising talents, to people from other disciplines - artists, philosophers, fashion designers, sociologists - and to architects from all over the world with the ambition that many opinions may reach a broader public, bring along diversity, enlarge usual perspectives, promote critical thinking and raise awareness.
