Within the framework of Wiki Women Design, the Flanders Architecture Institute is looking for visual material on Belgian female designers and their designs. This project, inspired by initiatives such as Art+Feminism and WikiD (ArchiteXX), aims to enrich Wikipedia with articles about these extraordinary women, who have often been overlooked in the history of architecture and design.
To illustrate these articles, and to create an image database for future entries, we need images and videos that we can upload to the encyclopedia. You can contribute to this image database yourself!
Are you a female architect or designer? Are you active in the fields of (interior) architecture, fashion, design, graphic design, product development or urbanism?
By taking a picture of your own designs and uploading it to our campaign on Wikimedia, you make this image freely available to anyone who wishes to write an article about you.
If you personally or as an institution are in possession of interesting footage, you can always upload it as well.
Upload your media filesThanks to Freedom of Panorama, you can photograph and freely use the images of buildings and objects that are in public spaces. If you know of a building by a female architect, or an object on display in a permanently exhibited, public museum collection, you can photograph it and upload it to our Wikimedia campaign.
