Low architects designed a high building with three passive duplexes for the municipality of Schaerbeek.
A walk through this colorful neighborhood teaches us that there is a huge wealth of shapes, materials, colors and volumes. By converting this vocabulary to contemporary architecture, an interesting dialogue between old and new is created, and the integration of the new corner building in its context is guaranteed. A striking building with a playful touch.
There is an optimal quality of living in all housing units, realized by the broad light from the large windows. Moreover, the arrangement of the duplexes provides several interesting views on the urban context and the North-South railway.
This project is published in Flanders Architectural Review N°12: Tailored Architecture. The text was submitted to us by the architects.
