Hoe zwaar is een stad? Die vraag was de aanleiding voor een driejarig onderzoeksproject naar de complexe reeks transformaties van zowel de stad als haar omgeving. Een nieuwe figuur met een omvang van planetaire dimensies treedt op de voorgrond. Om deze transformaties te begrijpen en de onderliggende oorzaken te achterhalen, moet architectuur en onze gedeelde omgeving opnieuw bekeken worden. De Triënnale Lissabon lanceert drie open oproepen voor ontwerpers, kunstenaars en onderzoekers om een antwoord te formuleren op deze vraag.
The next edition of the Triennale of Lisbon aims to open a public space of learning, experience, curiosity, inquiry, debate, delight, outrage, speculation, transgression, imagination and action about the possible futures of cohabitation. How heavy is a city? explores emerging forms of cooperation and mutuality, establishing a new unit to evaluate architecture to recast its role as a driver of debate.
The Independent Projects call welcomes thought-provoking proposals from the arts, sciences and architecture. The format can vary from ephemeral installations, online, performances, workshops, and showcases. Any self-funded projects can apply and the Triennale’s Cultural Centre will host a few from the pool of 12 selected proposals. The deadline is January 20, 2025. Check the guidelines.
The Lisbon Triennale Millennium bcp Universities Competition invites schools and academic research centres worldwide to share their innovative ideas. A selection of proposals will be featured in the Triennale 2025 main exhibitions, alongside an online publication. The submission deadline is by February 3, 2025 here.
Emerging practitioners can apply for the Lisbon Triennale Millennium bcp Début Award. For the first time, the age limit has been raised: individuals, offices and collectives with a median age of up to 40 are all welcome. With no entry fee, five shortlisted will take centre stage to give a lecture during the 7th Triennale. The call is open until February 24, 2025.
