Model landscape in Belgian pavilion at Venice architecture biennale opens its doors

From 22 May visitors of the the Biennale Architettura in Venice can dive into Composite Presence,the exhibition in the Belgian pavilion. A stunning urban landscape on a scale of 1/15 containing 50 recent projects by 45 contemporary Belgian practices, forms an imaginary Flemish city.

On 20 May, Dirk Somers (curator, Bovenbouw Architectuur) and Sofie De Caigny (director & commissioner, Flanders Architecture Institute) will open the exhibition during an online preview.

The scenography by Bovenbouw Architectuur shows a piece of urban landscape on a scale of 1/15. The selection of projects depicts a healthy architectural ecology in which different styles, functions and typologies coincide.

Bovenbouw converted 50 projects of 45 contemporary Belgian practices into models, forming the imaginary landscape. The project selection reveals the importance of the current policies in Belgium when it comes to city planning and tendering.
