VAi at EAHN 2026 Aarhus

On 18 June 2026, the Flanders Architecture Institute (VAi) will participate in the EAHN 2026 conference in Aarhus with a paper on the Belgian feminist working group Women and Housing [Vrouwen en Wonen]. The presentation will explore how oral history methods can uncover collective and activist narratives that traditional archival practices often render invisible.

VAi at EAUH 2026 Barcelona: Belgian Art Nouveau Through a Colonial Lens

On 4 September 2026, the Flanders Architecture Institute (VAi) will participate in the EAUH 2026 Conference in Barcelona with a lecture exploring the relationship between early adaptations of Art Nouveau in Belgian architecture and contemporary perspectives on colonised cultures. In this session, Stefaan Grieten (VAi) will focus on specific areas of architectural typology where these adaptations occurred, as well as the prevailing cultural associations.

Winners of the 2026 Flanders Architecture Prize revealed

On Sunday 7 June, the big day finally arrived. The six winners of the 2026 Flanders Architecture Prize were announced during a festive awards ceremony at De Bijloke in Ghent. Attended by a large audience, this special edition of the Day of Architecture came to a festive close.
