21 buildings is an architectural research project under the Flemish Arts Decree by noAarchitecten, Josiane Schmidt, Alexander Throm, Maximilian Lewark and theatre maker Thomas Bellinck. 21 buildings responds to the European Commission’s abrupt 2023 decision to sell off half its buildings in Brussels’ European Quarter—an act of privatization framed as climate policy—by exploring alternative, equitable futures for these institutional spaces.
On 12 June, the project will be presented as part of the Cosmopolis Lunch Lecture Series in Brussels.
