In purely spatial terms, an interior can be reduced to the inside of a construction. And yet it has some specific characteristics that give it its own status. Access and use are selective. The building’s functional programme is recognizable via the interior. And there are a number of preconditions, such as contemporary living and working comforts and circulation possibilities.
"The interior is the ideal zone in which the user leaves his or her mark on an edifice, potentially at the design stage already. But above all, everyday use is decisive. The ensuing dynamics can have far-reaching consequences for the original concept."‐ Dirk Laureys, collection manager
