L'Adamant is an extraordinary day centre: a floating structure on the Seine, in the middle of Paris. Here, adults with mental illnesses find care and hold in time and space, supporting their recovery and resilience. The team behind the centre actively resists the dehumanisation of psychiatry.

The film takes us on board, where patients and caregivers shape daily life together. The screening is part of the presentation of the research project Therapeutic City (BWMSTR Label) by Lisa Janssens and Renaud Baeckelandt.

The first screening on 6 May will be followed by a discussion with clinical psychologist Linda De Zitter and researchers Lisa Janssens and Renaud Baeckelandt (BWMSTR Label Therapeutic City).

Architecture on Film

Curated by VAi and De Cinema, the Architecture on Film series puts documentaries and fictional movies about architecture in the spotlight. The screenings start on January 2025 and take place in De Studio, at the centre of Antwerp. Explore the art and impact of architecture through the lens of cinema, where buildings become characters, cities set the stage, and design shapes stories.

The film series is a reflection of VAi’s ongoing programming and De Cinema’s interest in built environment and architectural design.

In May, Architecture on film continues with ‘Diversity in Space’.

The screenings are planned for each first Tuesday of the month with an intro by the directors or experts and a re-run on the third Tuesday of the same month. The tickets are on sale via De Cinema (9€ regular, 6,5€ discount).
