On 20 January we will be opening the exhibition Table Setting #0. Laura Muyldermans. During an outdoor winter reception we’ll be presenting the new exhibition series for young architects and reflecting on the position of young designers today.
Laura Muyldermans will be kicking off Table Setting, a new series of exhibitions for young architects from Flanders and Brussels. With the aid of a set of vitrine tables and accompanying props, young designers will be taking up their positions on the square in front of De Singel over the coming years. By treating the exhibition installation as urban furniture, Muyldermans seeks out opportunities for encounters in the public space.
read more about the exhibitionTable Setting aims to be a place for young architecture which seeks out interaction with its surroundings. The opening evening will also engage on both fronts. During a winter reception, we’ll be using the tables as a place for encounters right from the start. Designer Laura Muyldermans and curator Petrus Kemme will talk about the installation and the series Table Setting. Architect and artist Jolien Naeyaert will read an open letter about the contemporary position of young architects. She will thereby enter into dialogue with significant openings of young architecture exhibitions at De Singel, from a not-so-distant past.
