On 21 October, we open BWMSTR Label 034: Living Frameworks at DE SINGEL. Curators Didier El-Bacha and Joris Van Reusel (HOP.office), together with architects and nature experts, will share their research process and the ideas behind the exhibition.
The exhibition presents design and architecture projects from an ecological perspective. During the opening evening, architects and nature experts will reflect on the relationship between architecture and nature, focusing on two of the featured projects: the North-South Connection in Limburg and Emergency Housing in Oudenaarde.
You are invited to reimagine buildings as ecosystems and to view architecture as a catalyst for a better relationship between humans and nature.

The divide between the construction sector and the natural world has grown wider over the years. Living Frameworks emphasises the urgency of bridging this gap. Eleven diverse architectural projects demonstrate how knowledge from ecological and biological disciplines is slowly but surely becoming integrated into contemporary architecture.
The exhibition invites critical reflection on the role of buildings as ecosystems. The aim is to position architecture as an agent for a better relationship between humans and nature.
