Following in the footsteps of the Allee du Kaai development, Toestand initiated a similar project in Anderlecht. This temporary centre has been accommodated in the former office buildings of the PIAS record company, which are now owned by the municipality. Toestand once again tackles an innovative social project, supported by the municipality of Anderlecht and the Brussels-Capital Region, but above all by the inhabitants and associations of the district and beyond.
Biestebroek is a project for everyone. In addition to a constant receptiveness for projects and productions, there is continuous collaboration with local organizations that focus on vulnerable target groups. Toestand encourages young and old to organize their own activities and offers scope for their initiatives, ideas and dreams. The site is the playing field, only limited by the imagination of the players. The enthusiasm, energy and self-organisation is not only commendable, it also acts as the proverbial fuel for the diverse projects. The approach to Biestebroek revolves around creative expression, opportunities to get together and relaxation. Toestand aimed for a comfortable home space where all this is possible, while at the same time offering a reflection of the city and neighbourhood.

This project was opened on the occasion of the 2017 Day of Architecture.
