The houses adjoin each other both at the side and the back so that the gardens are at the front. This gives rise to a contemporary garden district which, despite its high density, has all the elements that make a classic estate so popular: one’s own front door, a large garden and a parking space on one’s own plot. When the competition was judged, the way the architects were able to reduce quality and quantity to a single denominator appears to have been decisive.
