Macken & Macken have cast a playful, almost boyish brief into a form that combines rigidity with strikingly sensual qualities. The brief started out as the conversion of a traditional farmhouse on the edge of a village and evolved into a highly concentrated new building whose simplicity has an almost obsessive effect in the landscape.
