The T.O.P. office archive contains 15,000 photographic slides by Luc Deleu, a resource that he’s been creating since he graduated from the Hoger Instituut Sint-Lucas Brussels in 1969. As part of the FUTURE PLANS project, the Flanders Architecture Institute digitised the entire collection in 2020. The visual material provides an insight into the themes, sources of inspiration and obsessions that are present in T.O.P. office’s artistic oeuvre. For Deleu, photography is not just a way of capturing his surroundings; he uses the medium as a fundamental object of research. He arranges his collection meticulously and chronologically, right down to the hour and the minute. This page shows a selection of photos that testify to the unique perspective with which Deleu observes and records the world around him.
