Brice Polomé and Damien Goffart (Goffart Polomé Architectes) will be giving an online lecture on 20 April as part of the ACROSS series. The architects from Charleroi will be introduced by senior architect Niklaas Deboutte (META architectuur). Follow the lecture live on the Facebook pages of A+ and the Flanders Architecture Institute.
Brice Polomé and Damien Goffart studied together at ESA Saint-Luc Bruxelles. After graduation, Polomé worked at the bureau of the Swiss architect Serge Grard for five years. Goffart gained experience at a variety of Belgian practices before becoming self-employed. In 2012, the two Charleroi-based architects joined forces and together founded the bureau Goffart Polomé.
Having founded their office, they submitted a design for two different competitions: a school in Bossière and Eghezée town hall. They were successful, winning the first prize in both competitions. After that, one competition followed another with their designs almost always winning prizes. In 2016, interior architect Marie Maerckx joined the team, becoming a partner three years later. She is also a graduate of ESA Saint-Luc Bruxelles. In 2019, Goffart-Polomé won the Grand Prix d’architecture de Wallonie in the ‘young architect’ category with their project for the Les Écureuils crèche.
Goffart Polomé is currently still based in Wanfercée-Baulet, a borough of the Walloon town Fleurus in Hainaut. However they will soon be opening an office in Brussels. The ACROSS lecture on 20 April is a step towards further conquering the country.
This lecture is part of the ACROSS lecture series that invites young Belgian architects from both sides of the language border. Four young French-speaking firms give a lecture in Antwerp and four Dutch-speaking firms give a lecture in Liège.
