In February 2016, the Flanders Architecture Institute and the University of Antwerp start with a lecture program on architecture and imagination.
In these turbulent times, architecture is marked by many questions. Although there are many – and indeed urgent – practical issues at stake, this lecture series highlights the realm of the imagination. Recently, some architecture firms have been offering more space to alternate narratives in architecture, and to hopeful or provocative images. Particularly striking is their conviction that architecture’s relevance exceeds its economic value, and is aimed at the collective imagination of possibilities.
