Robbrecht and Daem Architects construct a summer pavilion in Germany based on design by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe that was never built. At the occasion of the Mies Van Der Rohe 1:1 Modell Golfclubhaus the VAi invites curator Christiane Lange (curator of the exhibition) and architect Paul Robbrecht (Robbrecht en Daem architecten) on May 14 to give a lecture on this project.

Christiane Lange, art historian and curator for ProjektMIK, invited Robbrecht & Daem Architects to design an objet d'architecture on the basis of the unpublished historical sketches of the project. The drawings of the clubhouse for a golf course in the gently rolling countryside around the former industrial city of Krefeld were found in the Mies van der Rohe Archive (MoMA) in New York. The 84 by 87 metre installation will be built primarily in wood. It will be a life-size model revealing the essence of Mies’s architecture through its abstraction.
