The exhibition The Ambition of the Territory in deSingel International Arts Campus became at the same time a space for debate, design and research: 'Atelier Flanders as Design'. The trajectory focuses on the capacity of the territory to share space and create synergies between the different sectors that all claim their part of the limited space. The program consisted among others a masterclass, a public lecture by Carolyn Steel and five workshops with actors, experts and designers. These workshops gathered around five possible themes for future transformation of Flanders: food, energy, metropolitan territories, dwelling and entrepreneurship.

Tuesday the 8th of January 2013 the insights of the atelier will become public and will be subject of the symposium “Towards a shared agenda for designing Flanders”. The symposium will take place in deSingel between 13h and 18h. Followed by the finissage of the exhibition “The Ambition of the Territories”. The results of the workshops – food, energy, metropolitan territorius, dwelling and entrepreneurship - will be presented and shared with the public as a design agenda for Flanders. Policy makers, experts and designers will synthesize and unite the findings.
