Baukunst in collaboration with the French architectural office Bruther has won the architecture competition Equerre d'Argent 2020 for a student residence in Palaiseau (FR).
Baukunst together with Bruther won the competition in the category Habitat. The student residence consists of 192 social housing units and a reversible car park.
The jury says: “This achievement pushes the project to its conclusion, to perfection. Rigorous and sensitive work, totally coherent, without window dressings. An achievement in line with the architects’ philosophy. Everything is complete; everything is designed with the ultimate goal of mixing and reversibility. A project with qualities that are simultaneously artistic, poetic, and magical. A great lightness for such a heavy programme, illustrated by the extraordinary car park ramp.”
The Prix d'architecture de l'Équerre d'Argent is a French architecture award. It is given annually by Le Moniteur group.
