The first issue of the magazine 'Verveling, Verveeling, Vervelling' presented a series of Excel drawings by Jan De Vylder & Inge Vinck, while the second issue 'Recollections' unveils a box containing a landscape of musings by Bijoy Jain (Studio Mumbai). Each copy is handmade in India, signed and numbered.
RECOLLECTIONS is the result of an extended dialogue between architect Bijoy Jain (Studio Mumbai) and art director Taku Satoh (TSDO inc.). This exchange ultimately brought forth a box, which serves as a container for a landscape of musings.
Similar to a cabinet of curiosities or the ever-evolving contents on the shelves of Studio Mumbai, RECOLLECTIONS presents itself as a non-referential, composite work. Within this space, diverse contents converge to establish new relationships, evoking thoughts and possibilities.
Gallery Magazine is a project curated by Jonathan Robert Maj and Johannes Ströhmenger Berry. In each issue one guest architect or practice is invited to realise a vision through the medium of a magazine. This is intended as a blank spaces to be designed ex novo, in line with the Magazine's ambition to present original or unpublished content.
