In this new book about Gaston Eysselinck, author Marc Dubois rediscovers a powerful and intense oeuvre of a passionate functionalist, with drawings and photos that have never been published before.
Around 15 December 2019 the book Gaston Eysselinck (1907-1953) / In the footsteps of Le Corbusier will be published by Snoeck Publishers. A rediscovery of a powerful and intense oeuvre. A passionate functionalist.
The limited oeuvre of the Ghent architect Gaston Eysselinck belongs to the most compelling evidence of an innovative architecture in Belgium. During his studies he comes into contact with publications of the European avant-garde, the Russian architecture and the work of Le Corbusier. He builds his own home when he was barely 24 years old, commemorates the floor plan of the terraced house and the RTT/PTT building in Ostend is his masterpiece.
The book includes drawings and photos never been published before. The photographer Filip Dujardin made superb shots of De Grote Post (19 photos) and the architect's home in Ghent (13 photos).
