For the celebration of the 500th anniversary of Le Havre, Karel Martens gave the beach cabins in Le Havre a colourful expression: stripes of 10 different colours and of 6 different widths will be painted on the visible faces of the cabins. The beach cabins in Le Havre are determinative to the cityscape. Traditionally they have always been white and remained undecorated.
