The Lithuanian city of Kaunas is the European Capital of Culture in 2022. Together with Kaunas, the Institute for Cultural Strategy of Ukraine and Industra Art of the Czech Republic, Intercommunal Leiedal is having artists reflect on modernist architecture within the Creative Europe project Modernism for the Future 360/365.
The Lithuanian city of Kaunas kicked off the year as European Capital of Culture in 2022. The thread running through the programme is modernism. In the exhibition Modernism for the Future 360/365 (Creative Europe) 14 artists reflect on unique modernist architecture in the various partner cities at the request of Kaunas, Intercommunale Leiedal, the Institute for Cultural Strategy (CSI, Lviv, Ukraine), Industra Art (Brno, Czech Republic).
With their artistic project, the artists developed a unique interpretation of the buildings in question as a dialogue about the importance of modernist heritage for this and future generations.
Intercommunale Leiedal invited Jonas Vansteenkiste, Ingel Vaikla, Erich Weiss en Gosia Olchowska.
