On 20 March 2019, belgian architect Kersten Geers and architectural theorist Christoph Grafe will give a lecture in the lecture series Ex Libris at UAA - Ungers Archiv für Architekturwissenschaft in Cologne.
Architect Kersten Geers and architectural theorist Christoph Grafe will present important sources in architectural history from the middle of the 19th century. Kersten Geers will talk about Paul Marie Letarouillys (1795-1855) 'Edifices de Rome Moderne', which is considered to be one of the finest works of Renaissance architecture. Christoph Grafe introduces the archaeological research of the architect Jacques Ignace Hittorff (1792-1867), who studied ancient monuments in Sicily from 1822 to 1824 and became discoverer of polychrome architecture.
