The Flanders Architecture Institute is seeking a new artistic-general director to lead its team.
The VAi is the reference for architectural culture in Flanders and Brussels. We raise public awareness of the importance of a well-designed living environment, stimulate social debate on the design of buildings/cities, and disseminate knowledge about architecture. Located in De Singel in Antwerp, we organise exhibitions, lectures, debates, publications and events, such as the biannual Flanders Architectural Review and the Festival of Architecture. Furthermore, the organisation represents Flanders at international events, such as the Venice Architecture Biennale. It is also embedded in a global network of architecture institutes.
The VAi manages an extremely rich and ever-expanding collection of architectural archives. It enables us to bridge the present, past and future of architecture. The VAi also plays an active role in caring for cultural heritage in the broadest sense of the term, be it a chair or the city. We map this heritage, give advice and disseminate information to a broad audience via publications and exhibitions.
Each application will be treated with the utmost discretion.
Candidates should address Ms Inge Vervotte, president of the Flanders Architecture Institute. Please send your application (CV of max. 3 pages and motivation of max. 2 pages) and any questions to candice.brouhon@vai.be.
The deadline to apply is 8 December 2023.
