As part of Europalia Arts Festival 2021 – Trains & Tracks, Marina Pinsky is exhibiting her art installation Circuit. Circuit is part of the Endless Express art trail, which takes you to various destinations along the railway line between Ostend and Eupen.
Scale models in the spotlights
For her art installation Circuit, Marina Pinsky borrowed 15 scale models from the architecture archive of the Flemish Architecture Institute.
The artist selected a number of wooden models and scale models of well-known and lesser-known projects and architects.
The artist selected a number of wooden models and scale models of well-known and lesser-known projects and architects. For example, you can view the model of the "Motel Nivelles", a design by architect and urban planner Walter Toubhans, former director of the Higher Architecture Institute Henry van de Velde in Antwerp. In addition to a model by Léon Stynen, there are also 8 scale models that were made in 2017 by students of KU Leuven to the design of René Van Steenbergen.
By deliberately integrating different styles and time frames, from both realized and imagined architectural projects, Circuit wants to present the many permutations of what a city can be.
Circuit is an exhibition in the old train museum in the Brussels North station.
