About Tintagel Castle Footbridge
In the beginning of September the bi-annual Footbridge Awards were announced by the UK magazine Bridge Design & Engineering at the occasion of the International Footbridge Conference. The international jury honoured the design with the following words: Tintagel Bridge is a bridge of breathtaking delicacy. The jury recognized that it requires exceptional effort to make something appear so effortless, and were impressed by the design in context as well as the detail that contributes to its slender demeanour… This footbridge was commissioned by English Heritage and was realized in collaboration with William Matthews Associates.
