Ney & Partners win the SCIA User Contest 2023 with the Mohammed VI Tower in Rabat, Morocco. The projet is a 255m high tower building. The jury appreciated especially how Ney & Partners used the software to calculate and verify the interaction between the core in concrete and the steel structure around it. Second they were impressed by the use of the software to calculate and to justify the structure of the wind, seismic and flooding loads.
The tower building Mohammed VI is 255 m high and the highest Moroccan tower in the Bouregreg Valley Development Project. The 55 storeys building contains a luxury hotel, offices, high-end apartments, and a view point on the terrace at the top. The project includes also a 26.650m² podium on two levels in reinforced concrete with a steel roof. The tower and podium structures can withstand not only the usual elements, such as strong winds or seismic events, but also flooding from the Bouregreg, the neighbouring river.
