The project consists in a clear and compact volume that establishes a dialogue with the fabric of Old Montréal and defines a public garden as the threshold between the city and the building. A set of adjacent rooms create a magic box for simultaneity and immediacy in the exhibition and the production of contemporary art. The compact nature of the project also enhances its awareness and sustainability to reduce its footprint and minimise energy use, while safeguarding a wide open space for public land and biodiversity.
