AG Vespa searches a design office for the renovation of the Rubenshuis, the Hovenierswoning and the Kolvenierssite. Please apply before 4 September 2024.
The Rubenshuis is one of the most important cultural and historical attractions in Antwerp. Each year, the site attracts some 200,000 visitors from over 30 countries.
To future-proof the museum infrastructure and accommodate the increasing flow of visitors, the museum site has been undergoing a major renovation in several phases since 2016. The beautiful garden with portico and garden pavilion have already been restored and the new reception and visitors centre at Hopland will soon open its doors.
The current and final phase of the renovation is focusing on the Rubenshuis itself, the ‘Hovenierswoning’ and the Kolveniers site containing the former Rubenianum and the Kolveniershof. Both the interior and exterior of the Rubenshuis and the ‘Hovenierswoning’ will be restored. A larger green courtyard garden will make the Kolveniers site more attractive to visitors and users. In addition, the desirability and feasibility of a new building programme on the Kolveniers site will need to be explored.
