On the occasion of the exhibition MAATWERK MASSARBEIT. Custom Made Architecture from Flanders and the Netherlands in Frankfurt, the Flanders Architecture Institute, Het Nieuwe Instituut and the Deutsches Architekturmuseum present the Frankfurt Dialogues debate series. Dutch and Flemish architects will discuss their shared convictions about craftsmanship, customisation and spatial quality, despite their divergent cultural and historical conditions.
Frankfurt Dialogue 4: Reason & Location
Every architect will interpret and create, time after time, the reasons and context for proposed interventions. Irrespective of pragmatism and stubborn reality, a new stream of architects is emphatically occupied with building on existing conditions, and with the incorporation and highly precise transformation of the potential of locations. The aim of all this is to supplement and adjust the existing fabric carefully in order to arrive at an effective interpretation. This is an evening about architecture’s wider environment.
