The Flanders Architectural Review N°14. When Attitudes Take Form has been reviewed by the journalist Kirsten Hannema for the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant.
In the article ‘Het Architectuurjaarboek toont waarin Vlaanderen leidt’ [The Architectural Review shows where Flanders leads’], she writes, amongst other things: ‘Flanders once looked at the Netherlands when it came to architecture, but now it’s the other way around’. She sees four lessons for Dutch architecture: ‘start with the outdoor space’, ‘combine high-rise buildings with parks’, ‘focus on circular construction’ and ‘think beyond old and new’. She makes reference to four projects: the Standaert site in Ghent by ae, Carton123 and murmuur architects, the Province of Antwerp headquarters by Xaveer De Geyter, the Construction Materials Hub in Brussels by TETRA architects and the redevelopment of the Predikheren cloister in Mechelen by Korteknie Stuhlmacher.
The Flanders Architectural Review N°14. When Attitudes Take Form presents striking architecture from Flanders and Brussels. It assembles a broad range of recently completed architectural projects and situates them in the evolution of the socio-cultural domain in which they arose.
