The 3 architectural offices Stramien, Nudus and Bedaux de Brouwer won the tender for the transformation of the Koepelhal and Wagenmakerij buildings in Tilburg, The Netherlands.
The Verhalenmakerij building opens these monumental halls to the city and transforms closed industrial spaces into a vibrant public district. The Wagenmakerij will become a flexible city hall for exhibitions, markets, and events, while the Rolwagenbaan, once used for the transport of wagons, will be redeveloped as a public street. By building on what already exists, reusing existing structures and working with circular, sustainable strategies, the project will create a resilient place where past, present and future come together.
