The KU Leuven Faculty of Architecture, the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and the Ungers Archive für Architekturwissenschaft (UAA) are organizing the third international summer school “Negotiating Ungers’ around the topic ‘the construction of communities’ from 09 July–16 July, 2021.
The focus of the summer school is a studio project taught by Ungers at Cornell University for self-construction and Ungers’ encounters with counter-culture in the US of the 1970ies. The projects will be used to explore the individual interaction with architecture in the context of the group.
The workshop will take place at the UAA in Cologne. Students will work with the resources of the archive, individual reading, site visits as well as lectures The summer school will conclude with a public exhibition at the UAA. (Covid 19 note: if the measures in force at that time prevent in situ organization, an online format will be made available.)
The summer school is free of charge and open to master students in from other universities.
