This summer, it’s architect Joris Kerremans’ turn to participate in Table Setting. In this exhibition series, young designers from Flanders and Brussels present themselves on the forecourt of De Singel, using a set of display tables and accompanying attributes. In Table Setting #2 Kerremans examines the diversity of his practice by presenting it within a series of identical rooms, created in collaboration with visual artist Stan Auwers.
For Table Setting #2, Joris Kerremans explains his work and the interpretation of the installation on the forecourt of De Singel. He will discuss the open attitude that he adopts in his design process, the role of seemingly coincidental fascinations, references, and the importance of collaborations. All these aspects apply to the work on display, but also to the installation on the forecourt, which forms the backdrop to a closing reception.
