STAM ARCHITECTEN - ANTWERP

Veilinghuis Bernaerts

In 1994, the Bernaerts family bought the old Artis cinema complex to accommodate their auction house. In 2012, the building underwent a comprehensive renovation based on the design of Stam architects. The demolition of the former De Carrousel café created a passageway between Verlatstraat and Museumstraat. The former cinema is now a fully fledged auction hall and the first floor is used for concerts and other events. The passageway to Museumstraat houses a gallery. The current office and part of the storage space are located in an adjacent warehouse.

This project was opened on the occasion of the 2017 Day of Architecture.
