Reconversion Antwerp Central station by the architects of Eurostation led by Jacques Voncke.
Antwerpen-Centraal used to be a terminal station where trains had to reverse. With a 3.8 kilometer long tunnel under the city the station upgraded to a transit station with a connection to the Netherlands. The station expanded with an additional entrance at the back, a shopping center and two lower-level platforms. The insertion of both daytime and artificial light enhances the expressiveness of the interventions.
