The biennial prize 'Transformation de bureaux en location' (transformation of offices into housing) was organised by the Maison de l’Architecture Île de France and the Greater Paris Investment Agency. Bogdan & Van Broeck received the special mention of the jury for The Cosmopolitan in Brussels.
Bogdan & Van Broeck redeveloped the existing building’s office spaces into 130 comfortable housing units with unique east and west views. At the south-east corner of the site, a new building with 26 dwellings was added to mark the volumetric transition between the high-rise and the neighbouring row of houses.
The Cosmopolitan is nominated for the EU Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award 2022.
The Cosmopolitan features in the Flanders Architecture Institute's buildings database.
