Gedurende 5 dagen werken studenten van 5 architectuur- en ontwerpscholen rond de vraag wat binnenhuisinrichting nu betekent en wat het in de toekomst zou kunnen betekenen; de resultaten worden gepresenteerd op 26/10 vanaf 18u00 op Buda eiland. Interiorcity onderzoekt de relatie tussen wat zich afspeelt binnen de muren van een gebouw en de stad errond, tussen de beurs en haar bezoekers en de bewoners van Kortrijk.
De workshop vindt plaats in samenwerking met het VAi in het kader van Interieur 2012.

The team of participants will examine how interiors and city relate to each other, imaginative interventions of designers transform our worlds and how designs have the capacity of changing our perception of everyday urban environments. The workshop is also related to the ambitions laid out in the ViA Vlaanderen in Actie Plan, the Vokaplan Kortrijk and by the Flemish Government Architect and engages with the initiatives of DesigncityKortrijk and Budalab.
In the workshop INTERIORcity the collaborators will examine the potential of interiors as a form of micro-urbanism, offering images of publicness and publicity, exploring the economy of artistic interventions as well as the impact of use on how we see the city, its buildings and its rooms. Students will literally take Kortrijk into the city of Interiors, using and re-using parts of the everyday in a temporary work that is to surprise, intrigue andenchant the visitor of the exhibition.
