The FWO-funded Scientific Research Network ‘Texts ≈ Buildings: Dissecting Transpositions in Architectural Knowledge (1880-1980)’ hosts the international conference ‘Architecture and Bureaucracy: Entangled Sites of Knowledge Production and Exchange’, to be held in Brussels on 30-31 October 2019. The goal of this conference is to critically engage with and reflect on the ways in which bureaucracy influences architecture and the ways in which architecture generates bureaucracy.
The keynotes are Prof. Ben Kafka, professor in the Department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University and author ofThe Demon of Writing: Powers and Failures of Paperwork (2012) and Dr Tania Sengupta, architectural historian and Director of Architectural History and Theory at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London.
