Fragile's-lezing Interboro (NY, USA)

Daniel D'Oca van het New Yorkse architectenbureau Interboro geeft een lezing over hun werk en innovatieve, experimentele design ideeën.

Formed in 2002 by four graduates of Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, Interboro Partners is a New York City-based office of architects, urban designers, and planners who work together to improve the urban environment with innovative, experimental design ideas. At the heart of their philosophy is the idea that architecture’s ability to act is tied to its own ability to recognize those that act on it.

Remarkable: they won the 2011 MOMA PS1 Young Architects Award. Holding Pattern brings an electric collection of objects including benches, mirrors, ping-pong tables, and floodlights, alle disposed under a very elegant and taut canopy of rope strung from MoMA PS1,s wall to the parapet across the courtyard.

Daniel D’Oca received a Master in Urban Planning degree from the Harvard Design School in 2002. In addition to being a principal of Interboro, he teaches urban history and theory at the Maryland Institute College of Art. He has a BA in philosophy from Bard College and is an Assistant Professor at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
